Founder, Y-VIEW (Youth Voices for Impact, Equity, Wellbeing)

Youth voices are frequently marginalised, and their meaningful participation is often not adequately recognised by organisations, particularly those working with young people. In response to this gap, I initiated Y-VIEW, a program designed to amplify youth perspectives and ensure their active engagement in decision-making and advisory bodies.

I developed a toolkit for NGOs working with children, adolescents, and youth on steps for establishing Youth Advisory Boards (YABs). I pitched the toolkit to 15 NGOs working in Mumbai and across India.

Working with organisations such as Child Rights and You (India’s largest child-focused NGO) and Apni Shala (one of India’s leading socio-emotional learning focused NGOs) was particularly fulfilling, with both organisations currently having these plans under internal considerations.

I also raised Rs 7 lakh for Apni Shala to host four roundtables on health and well-being of young people to initiate youth participation.

Youth Advisory Board Member, HundrED

Founded in 2012, HundrED is a Finnish mission-driven organisation transforming K12 education by identifying, amplifying, and facilitating the implementation of impactful and scalable education innovations.

I was selected to join HundrED’s Youth Advisory Board for the Education Spotlight. I dedicated time to review 17 global educational innovations for HundrED’s Spotlight on Wellbeing in Schools in partnership with the International Baccalaureate (IB), Oxford University, Research Schools International, Harvard University, and the Jacobs Foundation. The experience helped me gain deep insights and exposure regarding the innovations in learning being made across the world. I was able to provide contextual insights to support the implementation of the most effective and scalable innovations for maximum impact. Being part of a youth advisory board helped me recognise how transformational every individual’s voice can be in shaping the discourse around these new and exciting innovations that will one day shape our future systems.
